This event is being held in partnership with Universities UK

This event is sponsored by i-graduate

This year's forum, bringing together experts from across the globe, will look at how current economic, demographic and policy trends could affect the future of international higher education. The morning keynote will address 'Positioning of Britain in the world', followed by splitting into five specialist streams, each of which have three themed workshop sessions throughout the day, to enable delegates to build a programme which is tailored to their individual needs.

The streams will be:
International reputation building
• Intelligence & Analysis
• Small & Specialist
• Research
• Strategy

International reputation building

In this stream we ask 'Who is flying the flag for the UK?', we will debate who is currently promoting the UK overseas and what activity is taking place. We also look at how you build your institution's reputation internationally, if your university does not have a long-standing international reputation historically, and you don't have a 'destination' location.

Confirmed speakers for this stream include:
Conrad Bird, GREAT Campaign Director, Prime Minister's Office & Cabinet Office Communications
Professor Rebecca Hughes, Director of International Higher Education, British Council
Professor Calie Pistorius, Vice-Chancellor, University of Hull

Intelligence & Analysis

This steam will showcase some of the latest data on international higher education, including the International Unit's latest UK Competitive Advantage research which compares the UK to its major English-speaking competitor countries. Hobsons will deliver the latest data on international recruitment trends, and GSA will discuss their research on Dubai's higher education sector.

Speakers in this stream include
Dominic Scott, Chief Executive, UKCISA
Dan Shah, Assistant Director, Policy, International Unit.

Small & Specialist
In partnership with GuildHE

This stream will look at issues which affect small and specialist institutions in particular, but which may also be pertinent to all higher education institutions. Workshops for this stream will cover international strategy building, EU funding and leveraging your institutional specialisms on a global stage.

Speakers in this stream include
Professor Peter Lutzeier, Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Newman University,
Dr David Llewellyn, Vice-Chancellor, Harper-Adams University
Professor Anne Carlisle, Vice-Chancellor, Falmouth University.

This stream is aimed at those interested in international collaboration for research, featuring workshops on university-business collaboration, how to get the most out of the Newton Fund and the impact of international collaboration on citation impact.

Confirmed speakers for this session include:
Professor Jonathan Adams, Chief Scientist, Digital Science
Dr Claire McNulty, Director, Science and Research, British Council
Nick Rousseau, BIS

This stream will look at how to build an international strategy in the face of an uncertain global environment, including workshops on how to buck the trend in terms of student recruitment from India, and how best to respond to the refugee crisis.

Confirmed speakers for this stream include:
Stephen Wordsworth, Executive Director, CARA
Professor John Joughin, Vice-Chancellor, University of East London
Professor Helen Griffiths, Pro-Vice-Chancellor International, Aston University

"Great event! I also went in 2013 and noticed how much it has grown since. It was great to hear from speakers outside of the UK too.''

''The conference was very interesting and provided a great deal of food for thought in addition to some very useful networking. I attended with a colleague and, between us, we have written up what we gained from the day to share with others back at the 'office'.''

''Stimulating, well organised and thought provoking.''

''A very well-balanced informative conference. Ideal for updating and networking for UK HE providers of all types and stages of internationalisation.''

''Selection of topics that were relevant  and speakers were engaging and represented a wide range of institutions and perspectives.''
