The UK Higher Education International Unit is a central observatory and intelligence unit on higher education internationalisation and related policy developments for UK universities. It was created in 2007 to respond to the growing demand of UK universities for timely information on, and analysis of, all aspects of HE internationalisation.

The UK HE International Unit is funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England, the Scottish Funding Council, the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales, the Department for Employment and Learning (Northern Ireland), Guild HE, the Quality Assurance Agency and Universities UK.
